This policy explains what information our website collects and how we use it. It covers www.talkaboutherapy.com only. Information about your child’s care is protected by HIPAA and described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
Information you choose to share
Our website has no forms of its own. When you start your journey, you fill in a secure form from Ocean Friends, the system we use for patient records. What you type goes straight to Ocean Friends; it isn’t stored on this website. You can also call, text or email us, and we use what you tell us to answer your questions and schedule your child’s care.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar tools to understand how it’s used:
- Google Analytics records the pages you visit, how you arrived (for example from a search, an ad or another website), your device and browser, your approximate location (city level), and actions such as tapping to call, text, email, get directions or start your journey.
- Microsoft Clarity shows us how visitors scroll and click through our pages, through recordings and heatmaps. Text typed into fields is hidden from these recordings, and the Ocean Friends form isn’t recorded.
Neither tool runs on our intake form page or the page that follows it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics. The website still works without them.
Where you came from
If you reach us through an ad or a link, the web address may carry tags that name the ad or campaign. When you start your journey, we pass those tags, the first page you visited and the address of the website that referred you (without any search terms) to our Ocean Friends form, so we can tell which ads and pages help families find us. Ocean Friends’ form also receives the page it sits on and basic details about your device and browser, such as screen size. We don’t share what you enter in our intake form with Google, Microsoft or any advertising company.
Calls and text messages
We use the phone number and email you give us to answer your inquiry and coordinate your child’s care, including appointments and billing, by phone, text or email. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help, or call 770-927-7424. We don’t send marketing texts without your separate consent, and we don’t sell or share mobile numbers or text messaging consent with third parties for their marketing.
Job applicants
We publish our job openings on this website. Applications are submitted through Gusto, and what you send goes to Gusto and is covered by Gusto’s privacy policy.
How we use and share information
We use information from this website to answer questions, schedule care, improve the website and understand which of our ads and pages work. We don’t sell personal information. We share it only with companies that help us run our practice and website (such as Ocean Friends, Google and Microsoft for the uses described here), when the law requires it, or with your permission.
Children
Our website is meant for parents and caregivers. We don’t knowingly collect information online directly from children under 13.
Links to other websites
Our website links to other sites, such as Google Maps, Gusto and our social media pages. Their privacy practices are their own.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, and our intake form is provided over a secure connection by Ocean Friends. No website or internet transmission is completely secure.
